XD Throwdown #2

Our second event featured 404: Team Name Not Found and Empathizer Bunnies facing off. The teams threw down to help the non-profit, The Covering House who provides therapeutic recovery services to survivors of child sex trafficking. Please consider donating or volunteering.

The venue used for the competition was the ever lovely, Brennan’s Work & Leisure.

The Covering House Problem Spaces

  • How might we get the general public past being uncomfortable with the topic of sex trafficking?

  • In what ways might we gain more male advocates?

  • In what ways might we show donors the value of giving while not jeopardizing the anonymity of those served by The Covering House?

Winning Team

The Empathizer Bunnies took home the gold with their idea to focus on a test and learn messaging strategy for awareness and advocacy building. Ultimately, the idea led to a new content strategy spearheaded by a website relaunch.

Post Competition Collaboration

The Covering House and the Empathizer Bunnies met several times to iterate on ideas for a messaging strategy. After several brainstorming workshops, the group decide to focus time and resources on relaunching The Covering House’s website with crisp messaging, clear calls to action and an easy to update content management system.
